Get the most out of your Sensis tumble dryer

Follow these easy tips to get the most from your Sensis tumble dryer.

1. Always check laundry care labels first

Your laundry pile might be big but not everything in it will be safe in the tumble dryer, so always check the care label first.

This is where you’ll find all the info you need, including the right temperature and tumble dryer programme to use. For example, many synthetic sport kits need a cool, gentle cycle to prevent shrinking and keep them looking good on the court or pitch.

2. Don’t overload your tumble dryer

Cramming your tumble dryer too full means the warm air can’t move freely as it dries.

The result? Laundry is still damp to touch and has to be spilt and put through the tumble dryer again. Always leave enough space for the heat and air to do its job.

If tangled laundry is a problem, try adding tumble dryer balls to each load. These work by helping to separate your clothes, bedding and towels so the air and heat flows more evenly around the drum.

3. Tumble dry similar fabrics together

Drying similar laundry together means you can choose the right temperature and tumble dryer cycle for the size and type of load.

4. Use your tumble dryer with energy-efficiency in mind

Use the coolest recommended tumble drying programme for each fabric type.

Not only will this prolong the life and colour of your family’s favourite things – it will also help your monthly budget stretch further by reducing your energy use.

Heat pump tumble dryers cost more to buy than other types of tumble dryer but are up to 50 per cent more energy-efficient to run.* Setting your tumble dryer to run off-peak is another way to save money on your electricity bills.

5. Clean your tumble dryer filter regularly

Finally, don’t forget to clean the filter regularly to keep your tumble dryer working at its best. The filter traps stray fibres from each load and is usually on the inside of the door.
